Bio: Ray Hale
I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio (GO TRIBE!) and moved to Florida after a particularly brutal winter in the late 70’s. For 30 years I taught Photography (Darkroom and Digital) and was Director of the Photography Program at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida until 2014.
My lady and I have traveled the US by motorcycle (Moto Guzzis and Harleys) for 20 years and since retirement in our little Roadtrek conversion van. Many of the images in my galleries are from those trips. Some date back to the 60’s or maybe my travels in Europe, Middle East and Africa in the 70’s. They are a mix of film and digital work. A lot of the work from decades ago is slide film I’ve had in storage all this time.
I still shoot film and digital, of course, processing film, scanning the film and printing digitally in my studio. This is my retirement life. Traveling and photo work. I hope you find something you like.

A most hearty shoutout to my old friend “snakehead” for the gift of patient education. It seems the old dog can still learn a few new tricks, with the right biscuits.
